Welsh pottery

Welsh pottery for sale

We are proud to present to you Welsh pottery that is crafted lovingly in the heart of the Vale of Clwyd at the village of Llanrhaeadr. The handmade  pottery makes a special gift, that brings with it a sense of connection to one’s origins and authenticity being as no piece is exactly the same.

The workshop is set up in an old village Smithy, estimated to be up to five hundred years old. Next door is the medieval church of St. Dyfnog, popular amongst tourists for its famous Jesse stained glass window. A perfect location steeped in history, to be inspired and create pieces that evoke the local landscape and one’s cultural roots.

Welsh stoneware pottery

The cornerstone of the pottery’s range centres around their blue and sandy brown stoneware. The stoneware is oxidised and decorated with a sgraffito style (applying two contrasting glazes one on top of the other and then scratching to reveal the underlying layer). The designs are based on naturally occurring lines and shapes sometimes combined with a Celtic twist. Included in the range are

  • cappuccino mugs
  • expresso cups
  • Standard beaker mugs
  • Large vases

Your tea is sure to taste all the more delicious as you contemplate the splendour of the craftsmanship that has gone into one of these mugs.

Welsh earthenware pottery

Not limited to stoneware they have kindly created an exclusive range of earthenware ceramics for Gifts with Heart. The range is coloured honey brown and is decorated using a darker brown slip trail. The range includes

  • Dinner plates
  • Milk jugs
  • Large jugs
  • Flat bowl
  • Casserole dish
